Shri Akalkot Swami Samarthaji Maharaj

Shrimad Nrusimha Saraswati – Incarnation of Lord Dattareya In a place called Karanja Nagar (Karnataka State) in Southern India, there lived a pious Brahmin couple, Madhava and Ambabhavani, in the 13th century. Asceticism To this God-fearing & religious couple, was born a son around 1275 A.D. This child was the incarnation of Lord Dattatreya and came to be known as the great sage Shrimad Nrusimha Saraswati. The child was unique in the sense that, he was chanting only ‘Aum’ (the Hindu holy chant) since his birth. The parents were concerned about his dumbness till his ‘Vratabandha’ (the sacred thread bearing ceremony), when this child was merely eight years old, he started reciting all the four Vedas (the Holiest Hindu scriptures) to the great astonishment of all the learned people. After the aforesaid incident, the child left for Kashi (Uttar Pradesh State, Northern India) for Tapas [penance]. Pleased with his rigorous tapasya [penance], a learned ascetic named Shree Krishna Saraswati Swami, initiated him into Sanyasashram (Ascetism) and gave him the name, Shrimad Nrusimha Saraswati. Biography The biography of Shrimad Nrusimha Saraswati “Shree Gurucharitra”, gives us the details of his work in guiding the devotees and the various miracles he performed to help the devotees. He stayed at Ganagapur (Karnataka State, Southern India) for a long time and then gave his “Nirguna Padukas” to his disciples and devotees, before leaving for the Kardali forests to perform Tapas [penance]. His disciples prepared a floating seat of flowers for him on which he sailed against the current of the river Patalganga and disappeared. Rigorous Penance He performed rigorous tapasya [penance] on the Shree Shail mountain in the Kardali forests for nearly 150 years. After this he took an extensive pilgrimage, covering even places, now known as Jawa, Sumatra, Indonesia, China, Japan, Australia etc., relieved many people from their miseries, and guided them on the spiritual path. Finally, he came to the ranges of Himalayas where he enlightened many devotees. Later he sat under a Deodar tree for tapasya [penance]. This Tapasya [penance] in the Himalayas lasted for nearly 250 years, but a woodcutter unknowingly axed the anthill enveloping the body of Shrimad Nrusimha Saraswati. This resulted in the break in Tapasya [penance] and Shrimad Nrusimha Saraswati then left for an extensive travel throughout the Indian sub-continent guiding the devotees. Akkalkot Niwasi Shree Swami Samarth During this travel, he became popular by various names at various places. Thus at one place he was known as Chanchal Bharati and at another place he would be called Digambar Swami. As he travelled and stayed at various places, he became the Guru (preceptor) of many great souls like Shree Ramkrishna Paramahansa, Shree Saibaba of Shirdi, Shree Shankar Maharaj, Shree Gajajan Maharaj of Shegaon etc. Finally he settled down at Akkalkot (Maharashtra State) and stayed there for 24 years from 1854 A.D. to 1878 A.D. and thus came to be known as the Akkalkot Niwasi Shree Swami Samarth Maharaj (the great sage of Akkalkot). Here he enlightened many disciples, such as Shree Dev Mamledar, Shree Balappa Maharaj, Shree Cholappa Maharaj, Shree Nrusimha Saraswati Maharaj of Alandi, Shree Ramanand Beedkar Maharaj of Pune etc.

Shirdi Sai Baba

Shirdi Sai Baba is known as Avatar.  He was a great Saint who lived in a village of Maharashtra called ‘Shirdi’. Due to His miraculous power and the benovelence and love, He became famous all over the world!!

When I was a kid I used to listen a lot of stories about Shirdi Sai Baba from mummy like when He turned an ordinary water into oil in Deepawli, He made a person alive and lame walk on his legs and many more!! But when I started watching Sai Baba serial on star plus by Ramanand Sagar, I got a great knowledge about Him. Baba was very simple and yet powerful, He was a great Yogi and led a life of fakir!!

He lived in a place called ‘Dwarika Mayee’ and called it as His mother.. He used to burn Dhooni there and the ashes came out of it,He used to give it to His devotees as a ‘prasad’, which was so powerful that it could heal any disease of the world!!

Today also when someone worships Baba with full devotion , Sai Baba helps him or her and fill their lives happiness!! His greatest teaching are ‘shraddha’ and ‘saburu’ means ‘to have faith’ and’wait for the right time to come’!! He always used to say’Sabka Malik ek’,that is, God is one!!Sai Baba is God for us and we should always worship Sai Baba with full devotion!!

The Divine Life of Gautam Buddha

The Buddha was born as Siddhartha Gautama in 563 BC. He was an actual historical figure, a prince of the Shakalyas, the people of a small state bordering modern India and Nepal. He lived in a time of prosperity and social up heal. At the age of sixteen, Siddhratha married a beautiful woman and the had a son. The turning point in his life came when Siddhartha was twenty-nine and he ventured outside the palace grounds. He was caught by the sufferings of the world (old age, sickness and death), left his wife, son and riches to become a wandering ascetic in the search for enlightenment. He wandered to many places and ultimately at the age of thirty-five he arrived at Bodh Gaya, where he sat beneath a tree. He swore that he would not rise until he had found enlightenment. After forty-nine days of solitary meditation he attained nirvana, the state of permanence. He thus became the Buddha “One who is fully Awake.”

One of the interesting fact about Buddha is that Gautam Buddha’s disciple Ananda,Buddha’s wife, his chariot rider were born on the same day i.e. when He was born!! Surprisingly the peepal tree where he achieved the Nirvana was also planted on the same day!!

priceless moments of life…..

ayurveda-1I remember those days I was in school and really those days are the golden period of human lifetime.

Life was full of studies, attendence, friends, teachers, tests and games and play.

I wanted to become every teacher’s favourite and hence acquired a very good reputation in my every teacher’s eyes(because I was the topper of the class!). I used to work really hard and prepare notes everyday religiously!! Once our English teacher was  teaching us Shakespeare and it was my first time encounter with the literature by Shakespeare. There were many old english words in the text like ‘thou’ for ‘yours’,’thee ‘for ‘ you etc…. Our teacher told us that this is old english that was used at that time and I was really amazed!!

I used to write its meaning just in front of the word with a well sharpened pencil and then after coming back home, I used to copy it in my own personal notebook that I prepared only for my studies and never showed it to my friends!! (this is a trick to stand first in class!! ).

I also liked the poems and especially by Vikram seth!! Though you will not get happy endings in his poems generally, but I bet you will enjoy each and every line!! Life was really very exciting as a  students we always keeps on thinking about the stream we will get afterwards!! I was interested in Mathematics and so took up PCM in +2!!  I think that students should get a bit serious from beginning!!

Afterwards My studies became much more interesting and really when you go through the course book with enthusiasm and a want to learn more then you will enjoy each and every word and the informations contained in it!! As a student and also as a person books are my favourite hobby and  I read books of every taste!! Time to wrap up the post (I think I am becoming pretty nostalgic about the old memories!!)

Anyways the good days are yet to come(this is what we should always think!), Life is full of good moments and opportunities  so just go on doing good work!! One day success will knock at the door!!

OK take care!! cheers:)
